Gabriel Gual Crespí
PhD in Physiotherapy, specialized in injuries of the musculoskeletal system.

Degrees: Bachelor in Physiotherapy (2002, URL), Master in Physiotherapy (2003, KUL), Postgraduate degree in the Return to Play phase after an injury in sports (2004, UAB), Specialized in Intratissue Percutaneous Electrolysis® technique (2011, CEREDE), and PhD in Physiotherapy (2016, UIC).
MMy experience as a physiotherapist started in the 2003 in Belgium while following the Master’s degree. There I could understand the importance that the very first interview with a patient has. An optimal evaluation of the injury is essential for the good outcomes of the treatment. It ensures the therapeutic intervention to have efficacy.
Since 2003 until nowadays I have worked for different people with injuries at the musculoskeletal system, mostly related with sports activities. During my university studies of physiotherapy I made a stage in the junior soccer teams of F.C. Barcelona, and after getting my degree I worked 5 years for the male Spanish alpine ski team and 3 years with the trial rider Adam Raga. My passion for physical activity and sports has driven myself to study about the most frequent related injuries in this scope.
Since the 2005 I have always combined my work as a physiotherapist with teaching in different universities. I have been working in 5 different universities of Spain (UAB, URL, UdG, UIC and UIB). Nowadays, I am a professor in the Faculty of Physiotherapy of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and in several Master and postgraduate courses too.
Finally, and submitted to my possibilities, I try to work in physiotherapy related investigations. My research work has focused on tendinopathies, especially the patellar tendon (PhD thesis).

Treatments are based on: therapeutic exercises,
manual therapy techniques and therapies based on electrical sources.
